Connie Honeycutt is a documentary filmmaker whose work can be seen on PBS, MAX, CNN, The New York Times, and ESPN. Specializing in archival-driven, often neglected, historical narratives, Connie has worked on American Experience projects for the last decade, recently producing The Riot Report (2024), which premiered at DOCNYC in 2023 and broadcasts nationally in the spring of 2024. The film was written and directed by Michelle Ferrari and co-produced by Dr. Jelani Cobb.
Other credits for American Experience include, The First: Sandra Day O’Connor (2021), as well as the two-part series, The Vote (2020), which premiered at AFI Docs and was nominated for a Peabody Award. The Eugenics Crusade (2018), written and directed by Michelle Ferrari received the WGA award for Best Documentary Script. Connie’s short documentary Scary Times (2020) premiered at the NYC Short Documentary Film Festival and won Best of Fest at the Hudson Valley Film Fest in 2021.
She co-produced, Qualified for ESPN’s 30 for 30, which premiered at SXSW in 2019 and received the 2020 Focal Award for best use of Archival in a Sports Documentary. Connie is a graduate of Ithaca College, was a blue-ribbon finalist for the College Emmy Awards, and received film festival recognition for her first film, The Game (2012). She is currently overseeing archival production across numerous projects slated for 2025 release.
